Global Himalayan Expedition

Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE) is the one of the world’s first travel organization using the force of tourism coupled with technology to bring solar energy to the remotest communities of the world. GHE has become a successful tourism enterprise working in remote inaccessible locations by merging the elements of sustainability, education, adventure tourism, homestays and solar based electrification.

Besides being WTFL 2017 Winner, GHE has been commended by the world’s leading organizations including the UNFCCC, WTTC and the WEF, for its efforts to combat climate change and create resilient mountain communities through its development interventions. Till date, GHE has brought development access to more than 100,000 indigenous communities living in the Upper Himalayan region of India through solar electrification of villages, schools and health centres, while creating unique homestay based tourism models to enable income generation and uplift the communities out of poverty.
